Tour ends at the 9/11 Memorial.

This Ground Zero walking tour begins at St Paul's Chapel, aka the Little Chapel That Stood. St Paul’s is the oldest public building in New York City that’s still actively used. This church somehow survived the falling debris from the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center despite being only one block away from the melee. It became a kind of rescue center during the aftermath of the tragedy, and the iron fence that surrounds it became a place for family members to post notices about their missing loved ones.

As the tour continues, walk to the FDNY Memorial Wall and FDNY Ten House. Hear the heroic stories about the emergency responders on that day and see the fire station at Ground Zero.

Finally, enter the National September 11 Memorial, aka the 9/11 Memorial, a tribute of remembrance and honor to the almost 3,000 people who were killed on 9/11 — at the World Trade Center site, in the plane crash near Shanksville, Pa., and at the Pentagon — as well as the six people who were killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993.

There are twin reflecting pools at the very spots where the Twin Towers once stood. Look up and see One World Trade Center’s Freedom Tower.

There is an optional upgrade to include entry into the National September 11 Museum — 110,000 square feet of exhibit space located at the heart of the World Trade Center site. The museum tells the story of 9/11 through multimedia displays, archives, narratives and a collection of artifacts. The lives of every victim of the 2001 and 1993 attacks are commemorated here.
Itinerary
Stop At:
St. Paul's Chapel
We will start the tour at St. Paul's Chapel, New York City’s oldest public building still in continuous use. Just one block away from the 9/11 attacks, it miraculously survived the falling building and debris. St. Paul’s Chapel served as a makeshift rescue center during the aftermath. Its iron fence became a bulletin board where family members posted notices of their missing loved ones. Today, with the mementos received from people around the world supporting New York City, the church serves as both a landmark and a tribute.

Was a good tour and the guide was amazing with throwing in little things in like the Anne Frank tree. There was 3 of us in our group and we all loved it. One thing we wish was that they would of added in the Museum to the tour. I would tell anyone who wanted to go it is worth all the money and the trouble you will hear some amazing stories.

This was not the “guided tour” as described. It took us 45 minutes to get from the front of the chapel to the oculus where the tour guide Julie pointed out the building she worked in & her window numerous times. I should have learned more about that day not about how her and her now ex-boyfriend are still friends and she is the Godmother of his daughter. This was NOT worth the extra money I paid.

Julie was charming and genuine. Her story made the experience real and her anguish is still present. We were honored to hear her story of survival.

Very Basic - Not a great value.
Patricia_A
, Dec 2021
The tour was very basic. Not what I expected. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable - yet very basic and repeated himself several times. The tour took 1.5 hours - and there was not enough content and "Did you know" details. Not a very good value. Were not able to go to the Museum as our ticket were timed entry and way past our availability. I was not made aware that would be the case at the time I book and or confirmed with payment. I should have been informed of the time limitation so I could have elected to cancel my reservation.

A challenge to identify...
Terry_H
, Nov 2021
A challenge to identify just one thing. The entire experience was powerful. Living in Mobile, Alabama, we witnessed the impact by television. Visiting the Memorial and taking the tour opened our eyes to so much more. I immediately contacted a friend of ours who now lives in Mobile, and who was caught in Tower One on the 88th Floor. I shared our experience and together we praised God for sparing her life. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to participate. The tour guide was awesome and knowledgeable.
